For some time now we have heard about the possibility of taking another leap in terms of photographic sensors used in smartphones, from 108MP to 200MP. But contrary to what many rumors have pointed out so far, it seems that the first smartphone with this new sensor will not be either Xiaomi or Samsung.
Against all expectations, the latest information provided by leaker Evan Blass reveals that it will be Motorola’s next top of the range to debut this sensor.
The Motorola Frontier will have a great opportunity to finally be able to guarantee the brand’s return to the big stages of the top of the range. For a long time now, Motorola has had great difficulties in highlighting one of its high-end smartphones. Once again, contrary to the various rumors that have circulated so far, it appears that the sensor will not be Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1.
Accompanying the reveal, Blass also presented us with a fantastic image of the smartphone in high resolution and without any watermark. Judging by the specifications that have already been revealed and its premium design, this should be the best smartphone ever made by the brand.
What can we expect from the Motorola Frontier and its 200MP camera?
In addition to the recent confirmation of its 200MP sensor, several details about its specifications have already been revealed. Still with regard to its cameras, we know that the main sensor will be supported by a secondary 50MP (ultra wide-angle) and a third 12MP (telephoto).
As for the remaining specifications, there was talk of the presence of a 6.7″ inch pOLED panel with support for a refresh rate of 144Hz. Ensuring a high-performance level of performance, we will have the already popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
In addition, we know that to ensure satisfactory autonomy, the Motorola Frontier will arrive equipped with a 4,500mAh battery and support for charging at 125W. It is also worth noting that support for wireless charging at 50W is also expected.
For now, we still don’t have concrete information about a possible presentation date, but everything indicates that the new top of the range could be presented during the month of July.
