According to a recent report by Canalys, Apple has regained its dominant position as the biggest smartphone seller on the planet, placing itself at the top of the podium in the last quarter of 2021.
Apple’s iPhone represented 22% of smartphone sales in the period between October and December last year, with special emphasis, of course, for the iPhone 13 family of equipment.
In second place was Samsung with 17% of total sales, followed by Xiaomi with 12% of sales volume in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Apple crushes Samsung and Xiaomi in smartphone sales
One of the factors that justifies this dominance of the Cupertino manufacturer is the growth in demand for iPhones in China, a market where the apple has been growing gradually. It should also be noted that these values could be even higher since the production of iPhones was conditioned by the scarcity of components.
The pandemic scenario and the difficulty in manufacturing key components for smartphones seems to have mainly affected smaller manufacturers, with the market giants getting a good volume of products in stores.
The American technology company seems to be the company that best deals with the current scenario, which is not unrelated to the fact that the brand led by Tim Cook is developing many of the components of its products internally. For the year 2022, the arrival of several new products in all lines is expected, with several analysts and leakers suggesting that this will be a very special year for fans of the brand.
