According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple will this year cement the transition from Intel chips to silicon designed in Cupertino, introducing in 2022 a new version of the iMac Pro, this time with two variants.
The new iMac Pro that Apple prepares to unveil this year may come equipped with Apple Silicon M1 Pro or M1 Max. It will be up to the user to decide which configuration he prefers and which is more suited to his pocket.
Gurman also reiterates that 2022 will be the year of the arrival of a new 5G-capable iPhone SE, AirPods Pro 2 and a new iPad Air.
Apple will introduce iPhone SE, iPad Air 5th Gen and AirPods Pro 2 also in 2022
In terms of design, the new iMac Pro won’t be too different from the existing 24-inch iMac models with an M1 processor. The Bloomberg analyst even looks to this iMac Pro as a replacement for the 27-inch desktop computer that hasn’t yet received the Apple Silicon treatment.
Still in this chapter, it is unlikely that the Californian brand will offer the same color palette as the 24-inch iMac, keeping the Pro model a more premium and sober look.
The screen of this new iMac Pro should then be entitled to 27 inches, mini-LED technology and ProMotion 120 Hz. It will be a desktop computer geared towards the production of multimedia content, thanks to its processing power.
The question that arises is the price of this iMac Pro, a traditionally expensive product with the right to basic accessories with prohibitive values. We will have to wait until the middle of the year to see what American technology has in store for us in this segment, which has not received an update for several years.
